About Justin Sackett Photography

Justin Sackett Photography is a place for me to post pictures that I would like to share with everyone. I am an aspiring photographer who currently works as an assistant to Michael Sackett Photography. Apart from shooting weddings and engagement sessions, I enjoy both landscape and cityscape photography.

urban Detroit Engagement Session

October 15th, 2011

Last week we had the opportunity to meet up with Vence and Katie in downtown Detroit. Both Vence and Katie are originally from Michigan, but currently reside in Arizona. They decided on the area known as Corktown, in Detroit, for their engagement session. It was a nice change of locations for where most of our Detroit shoots take place.

Playing Catch Up…

September 27th, 2011

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve updated my site (1 month to be exact). In that time I’ve been pretty busy. Classes started up, fall weddings every weekend with several back-to-back days with weddings. So, instead of back tracking all of the weddings from the past month, I thought I would just highlight some of my favorite shots from them.

Armada Engagement Session

August 27th, 2011

A few weeks back we met up with Dan and Emily at a place they were both able to call home, Armada, Michigan. More specifically, we met them at Blake’s Apple Orchard, which they had both worked at one point. We spent some time walking around the orchard, as well as the abandon Haunted House area. This was all fitting, as their wedding is Halloween weekend.

Lexington Engagement Session

August 5th, 2011

A few weeks back we met up with Rick and Christine in Lexington, Michigan. Lexington is personally one of my favorite little Michigan towns. It’s just north of Port Huron, on Lake Huron, with local restaurants and surf shops. Rick and Christine choose this spot because it was a place the two of them had visited often, and it was where Rick proposed to Christine last summer.

I’m Back…

August 5th, 2011

It’s been nearly a year since I last updated my website. Time to change that. I’ve been taking more photos this summer, so I figured I would use this site as a place to share them.

This first photo was actually taken with my iPhone 4, while I was waiting for a METRA train in Chicago to visit a friend at the University of Chicago. I used one of my favorite iPhone apps, Camera + and one of their built in filters, Lomographic.

Fisheye Vignette

This second shot was taken while I was shooting a wedding with Michael Sackett Photography down in Detroit. It’s shot with an 8mm fisheye lens on a Canon 7D.

Hope you enjoyed a few preview images. There will be more to come in the next few weeks, as I am catching up on editing engagement sessions as well as weddings.
